Reporting to the Head of Information Systems, this post will help deliver and develop the technical capability within the organisation to provide quality enterprise applications support within Parliamentary Digital Services.  In particular, the needs of users should be met by fully understanding and exploiting the system’s capabilities, understanding the business needs of users, providing effective training and documentation, ensuring resources are identified and allocated for provision of day to-day support.

You will have hands-on experience of web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, JSON and Javascript  and experience of Linux and Windows Systems administration; demonstrable application experience of working with the following technologies: MS SQL Server 2008/2012, MySQL databases and of: RDP, IIS, Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, JBoss, (S)FTP, SCP, Active Directory, LDAP, Shibboleth and knowledge of TCP/IP LAN networking principles and application protocols, i.e. HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP and FTP; experience of programming, scripting and use of regular expressions with technologies such as Perl, Powershell, Bash, etc. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and organising, analytical and problem solving, team building and management skills, with a strong sense of customer service, the ability to deliver results to deadlines, and experience of diversity and inclusion initiatives within the workplace.
